Temporada de Premios: Nominados a los Premios BAFTA 2022

La Academia Británica de Artes Cinematográficas y Televisivas ha revelado sus nominaciones a los premios, y son precisamente los agentes del caos que muchos han estado anticipando.

El temperamental western de Jane Campion “ The Power of the Dog ” obtuvo ocho nominaciones, mientras que el drama personal de Kenneth Branagh sobre la mayoría de edad “Belfast” recibió seis. "No Time to Die" obtuvo cinco nominaciones, al igual que "Licorice Pizza" de Paul Thomas Anderson ambientado en la década de 1970 y el remake musical de Steven Spielberg "West Side Story".

Solo la segunda edición de los Premios de Cine BAFTA desde la innovadora revisión de diversidad del instituto en 2020, las nominaciones de este año están llenas de sorpresas que reflejan una membresía cambiante. Si bien se esperaba que la película de James Bond "No Time to Die", que recaudó $131 millones en la taquilla del Reino Unido, encabezara las nominaciones, ese honor se lo lleva el épico thriller de ciencia ficción de Denis Villeneuve " Dune ", que obtuvo 11 nominaciones, con muchos de los de categorías técnicas.

Las nominaciones fueron reveladas por el presentador AJ Odudu y Tom Allen el jueves en el renovado edificio BAFTA en Londres.

Los premios de este año abarcan 48 películas, apenas un poco menos que los 50 títulos de 2021. En las categorías de interpretación, 19 de los 24 nominados reciben su primera nominación al BAFTA. Mientras tanto, en la categoría de dirección, hay una división equitativa entre directores femeninos y masculinos, un poco menos que el año pasado, cuando cuatro de los seis directores eran mujeres. En general, hay un aumento en el número de directoras nominadas en total en todas las categorías, hasta 12 frente a las ocho de 2021.

BAFTA dice que el número total de mujeres nominadas aumentó a 70, que es el más alto en los últimos cinco años (cuando comenzaron los informes para la organización).

Los organizadores le dijeron a Variety que los BAFTA están planeando un evento en persona el 13 de marzo en el Royal Albert Hall, donde Rebel Wilson hará su debut como anfitriona.
