Los Globos de Oro 2024 se entregaron el domingo por la noche, con Oppenheimer, Barbie, Poor Things y Anatomy of a Fall entre las películas que ganaron múltiples premios.
"Oppenheimer" fue nombrada mejor película dramática, y Christopher Nolan se llevó a casa el premio a la dirección por su trabajo en la película. "Poor Things" ganó el Globo a la mejor película de musical o comedia. "Anatomy of a Fall" ganó la película a la mejor película de habla no inglesa, mientras que "The Boy and the Heron" fue nombrada mejor película animada.
En el ámbito televisivo, "Succession" fue nombrada mejor serie dramática, mientras que "The Bear" fue nombrada mejor serie de televisión, musical o comedia.
Este año, los Globos entregaron dos nuevas categorías. Una que reconoce los logros en taquilla; Barbie ganó el premio al mejor logro cinematográfico y de taquilla, cuya categoría incluía ocho nominados elegidos entre películas que lograron “una recaudación total/bruta de 150 millones de dólares". El premio a la mejor interpretación en monólogo televisivo contó con seis comediantes nominados que realizaron “actuaciones de monólogo tradicional de al menos 30 minutos, distintas de papeles en series de televisión, series limitadas, series de antología o películas hechas para televisión” en "una plataforma de medios reconocida". El ex presentador de los Globos, Gervais, se llevó ese premio por "Ricky Gervais: Armageddon".
Los Globos de Oro de este año marcan los primeros desde que el antiguo patrocinador de los Globos de Oro, la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood, fue reemplazado luego de la adquisición de todos los activos, derechos y propiedades de la HFPA por parte de Dick Clark Productions y Eldridge. Dado que los Globos ya no están supervisados por la HFPA, un nuevo grupo de votantes racial y étnicamente diverso, compuesto por 300 periodistas de todo el mundo, que representan a 76 países, seleccionó a los nominados y ganadores de este año.
