Temporada de Premios: Nominados a los Writers Guild Awards 2021


El Writers Guild of America ha anunciado sus nominados en las categorías de guión original, adaptado y documental para los premios WGA 2021.

Amazon obtuvo cuatro nominaciones y Netflix obtuvo tres nominaciones. Universal Pictures es el único otro distribuidor con múltiples nominaciones, obteniendo nominaciones para News of the World y Red Penguins .

Varias películas de alto perfil que se espera que compitan por nominaciones al Oscar, como Nomadland, Mank, The Father y Minari , no fueron elegibles para nominaciones a los premios WGA debido a las regulaciones del gremio.

El 3 de febrero, el gremio dio a conocer sus nominados en las categorías de televisión, nuevos medios, noticias, radio / audio y redacción promocional.

Temporada de Premios: Writers Guild Awards


Writers Guild of America entregó sus principales premios del año en ceremonias concurrentes en las costas este y oeste el sábado por la noche, con grandes ganadores como Parasite y Jojo Rabbit en el lado de la película, y Succession y Barry en televisión.

Bong Joon Ho y Han Jin Won se llevaron a casa el premio por el guión original de Parasite, ganándose a nominados como Noah Baumbach por Marriage Story. Bong expresó su gratitud a los miembros de WGA por leer su guión en la traducción. "Entendiste la estructura de nuestra historia y los matices de nuestro diálogo, es sorprendente", dijo.

Bong hizo referencia a la agenda política polarizante del presidente Donald Trump al observar: "Algunas personas aumentan las barreras. Nosotros, los escritores, nos encanta destruir las barreras".

El otro gran ganador de la película fue Jojo Rabbit de Taika Waititi, que se ganó a competidores como Todd Phillips y Scott Silver por Joker.

Waititi mantuvo su tiempo en el podio breve. Se burló de su "obligación" de mencionar a Christine Leunens, la autora de Caging Skies, que fue la base de Jojo Rabbit. También expresó su gratitud a su madre por presentarle el libro y hacerle leer el libro. 

En el lado de la televisión, HBO dominó la lista de ganadores, comenzando con el gran ganador de la noche, Succession, que ganó tanto el mejor drama como el mejor episodio de drama. También obtuvo el premio a la mejor comedia por Barry (aunque el piloto de Dead to Me de Netflix ganó por episodio de comedia). Y a largo plazo, HBO lo hizo nuevamente con su ganador del Emmy Chernobyl, que ganó por el guión original, mientras que Fosse/Verdon de FX ganó el primer premio en guión adaptado.

La ceremonia de entrega de premios se realiza solo una semana antes de que se anuncien los ganadores del Oscar, y después de una serie de premios de gremios que incluyeron el Gremio de Directores, el Gremio de Productores y el Gremio de Actores de Pantalla, además de los Globos de Oro.

Temporada de Premios: Nominados a los Writers Guild Awards 2020


Como cada año, los Writers Guild of America anuncian cuáles son los nominados de esta temporada en sus distintas categorías de televisión, nuevos medios, radio, noticias y redacción promocional.
Game of Thrones , el exitoso programa de HBO que culminó su octava y última temporada a principios de este año con la mejor victoria en una serie dramática en los Emmys, fue rechazado en el anuncio de la WGA del jueves.

Sin embargo, Fleabag, que ganó el Emmy por la mejor serie de comedia y la mejor escritura para una serie de comedia, no fue elegible para una nominación a la WGA dado que su creador y escritor, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, no es miembro del gremio.

En otra parte, Succession, ganador del Emmy de este año por la mejor escritura para una serie dramática, estuvo representado en las nominaciones de la WGA el jueves. Entre los recién llegados a la lista de este año se encuentran Watchmen de HBO y Russian Doll de Netflix .
