Una temporada de premios salvaje e impredecible produjo una lista de nominados a los Premios del Sindicato de Actores de la Pantalla el miércoles pasado que se desbordó con desaires, sorpresas y opciones desvalidas.
"House of Gucci" de Ridley Scott, una mirada a la riqueza, el asesinato y la alta costura, y "Power of the Dog" de Jane Campion, un western revisionista sobre la masculinidad tóxica, lideraron todas las películas con tres nominaciones. Sin embargo, “Power of the Dog”, que se ha beneficiado de un gran impulso de premios de Netflix, no logró obtener una nominación a mejor reparto. Los nominados para ese premio, considerado el más prestigioso otorgado por el gremio, incluyeron "House of Gucci", así como "Belfast", "CODA", "Don't Look Up" y "King Richard".
En el frente televisivo, "Succession", un drama de sala de juntas sobre la familia detrás de un conglomerado de medios, y "Ted Lasso", una comedia de fútbol para sentirse bien, obtuvieron cinco nominaciones principales. "Mare of Easttown", "The Morning Show" y el fenómeno del agua fría "Squid Game" obtuvieron cuatro nominaciones cada una.
